We have had our breakfast from the Driver's Hotel at Chhoto Komoldoho Bazar (ছোট কমলদহ বাজার). After that we have taken a CNG driven vehicle that dropped us at the bottom of a small hill. It cost us only 80 Taka and saved quite a lot of times as well. From there we have started our trekking towards the waterfall.
On the way we have found a beautiful lake that was created due to the water dam project (for irrigation purpose). Most of the water on the dam was coming from the water stream nearby. And our destination waterfall was one of the contributors for this lake. The water of the stream uses to be green or bluish. That's why the lake got a color of green from the source water. In fact this lake itself could be an attractive one for a traveler as well.
After crossing the lake we had to walk through the water stream of the waterfall. Water level was very shallow. In fact an average depth was one foot or below. But the path was sometimes slippery and we had to take an extra care for that.
The waterfall has a beautiful basin underneath with pristine green water that was slightly colder. The waterfall was dropping directly on that basin. And it doesn't have any space at the front side (blocked by a small mound). That's why it was not possible to get a full view of the waterfall from the front (or any places). From photo it may look like a very smaller one, but actually it doesn't. It has few portion at the upper side which is not visible in my photo. But still, its a small waterfall compare to other waterfall from around.
This area was abundant with lot of wild deers. But you know, by the grace of our greedy human nature, we have vanished them from there. During that golden era, lot of deers used to come here near the basin to drink water. This basin was always filled with water regardless the season. And the deers used to slack their thirst from here. And we shameless human used to hunt them from here. That's why the name of the waterfall (or should I say place) is Horinmara Kundo Waterfall (হরিনমারা কুন্ড ঝরনা) or Horinkundo Waterfall (হরিনকুন্ড ঝরনা).
After enjoying the beauty of the waterfall, we had a shower on that small basin. It was cool, and amazing one. Beneath the waterfall the depth was good enough to drawn any grownup man like us. And due to the flow of the water, it was also difficult to go under the waterfall. But still we have tried to go there and had a play for an hour or less.
How to Go:
This is a very easy trail and requires around 30 minutes of trekking. First of all you have to come at the Chhoto Komoldoho Bazar (ছোট কমলদহ বাজার) of Mirsarai (মিরসরাই). If you are coming from Dhaka (to Chittagong), then you can ask your bus driver to drop you near the Chhoto Komoldoho Bazar (ছোট কমলদহ বাজার). The GPS coordinate of your dropping point will be (22°42'19.36"N, 91°36'46.03"E).
From there you can take a CNG driven vehicle to drop you near the bottom of the hill. I don't know the exact name of that place. But the GPS coordinate is (22°42'17.41"N, 91°37'33.61"E).
After that you have to start walking through the hilly trail. It's a very easy trail and will require maximum 30 minutes to reach there. GPS coordinate of the Horinmara Kundo Waterfall (হরিনমারা কুন্ড ঝরনা) is (22°42'46.28"N, 91°37'50.54"E).
Where to Stay:
It is really difficult to find a better quality hotel near from that place. There are some low facilitated hotel available at the Sitakunda Bazar (সিতাকুন্ড বাজার), Mirsarai Bazar (মিরসরাই বাজার), and at Baroiyar Hat (বারৈয়ার হাট). You can try your luck there. If you think you can not stay there, then try to spend night at Chittagong (চট্টগ্রাম).
