twin temple, jora mondir, gopalganj, dinajpur

After returning from the great "Kantajew Mandir", I have dropped at the village "Gopalganj" from the bus to visit the "Twin Temple". That is an old temple, and almost in ruins. No one is taking any care of the temple.

If you ask local people about Twin temple, they will not respond, case they don't know the temple by your name. You have to ask the name as "Jora Mondir", which is the Bengali version of "twin temple". After that only people can guide you.

If you take any rickshaw from the bus stoppage, that will be better for you. Cause its a fair amount of distance from the stoppage. But I have went there by feet, and believe me, I didn't enjoy the walking. Two reasons, one was hot sun, and another was the dirty road, lower class people used to live there.

But somehow, finally I have reached near at the temple after asking lots of local people. Inside the village, you'll find two temples having 100 meters distance. The vicinity area of the temples are acquired by the local people, and they have build their own houses around the temple.

Both the temples are in moribund state, but both of those have stairs to take you at the top of the Mandir. Stairs are between a narrow path, and no light. Also the steps of the stair are almost leveled, so it was hard to get at the top. Also I was a bit nervous, for the darkness, and for the rough condition of the Temple.

Somehow I have reached at the second floor, and there was another at the third. But I didn't show any courage to reach at the top floor. From the second floor, you can easily see the other temple which is just 100 meters away from this one. Between the two temples, it has only green bamboo trees.

Inside the temple, it was a bit cool, and the green bamboo field gave a bewitching view. I have rested there for several minutes, and then get down from that, and moved for the other temple. I didn't ride the second temple.
