Comilla has two predominant rivers. One is Meghna (মেঘনা), and another one is Gomti (গোমতি). This time I had a chance to visit the river Gomti (গোমতি নদী). It was dry season, and the water level of the river was too low. But the flow of the river wasn't less at all. I have experienced the mighty flow of the river during the swim.
At afternoon, after visiting the Maynamati (ময়নামতি) War Cemetery, we have gone to the bank of the river Gomti (গোমতি নদী). It was just 15 Taka rickshaw fare, or half kilometer walking distance. We have reached there by a rickshaw, and returned back by feet.
I love water, and most of all I love to swim at river. It's a different feelings to swim at river. I have taken bath at several rivers before. So why not the Gomti (গোমতি)? I have my shorts at my traveling bag, and I couldn't resist myself from jumping inside the river after the hot and tiring day.
River Gomti (গোমতি নদী) is flowing throughout the Comilla (কুমিল্লা). And you can reach the bank of the river from most of the places. So next time if you are planning to visit the Comilla (কুমিল্লা), and if you know how to swim, then my suggestion is to cool your body with the water of Gomti (গোমতি).
